About
Roasting coffee in Co Cork since July 2008.
Badger & Dodo started in Fermoy, Co Cork, in July 2008, roasting in converted chicken sheds on a farm. "Badger" is the founder's nickname (broc is Irish for badger) and "Dodo" is his father-in-law's childhood one. In 2013 they built a new roastery with a local enterprise grant.
They say they buy only coffees graded 85 or above and are the only micro roaster in Ireland employing a Q grader. Most of the business is wholesale, plus an online shop and subscriptions.
The Barrack St outlet is their shop in the city and the home of their Coffee Academy barista courses (badgeranddodo.academy). Their site also lists an outlet at 87 South Mall, and market stalls: Midleton 10.00am to 1.00pm and Douglas 10.00am to 2.00pm.
